PeachDish: Home Cooking Made Easy

by | Jan 10, 2016 | Activities

Atlanta is known for its amazing food scene, but sometimes it’s best for your health (and your wallet) to prepare a home-cooked meal. The problem is, finding a recipe, going to the grocery store and prepping can be a LOT—especially after a long day at work. That’s why I was so excited to try Atlanta’s very own PeachDish.

PeachDish eliminates all of the stresses of cooking by delivering a box of fresh ingredients and recipe cards straight to your door! And this month, PeachDish’s very own Registered Dietitian Mary Alice Shreve and Culinary Director Chef Seth Freeman came together to create special recipes to help us all stay committed to health. Introducing: The SuperFood Series.

PeachDish’s SuperFood Series is available now through February. These dishes are packed peachdish_cuttingboardwith nutrient-rich ingredients such as wheat berries, pepitas, kale, edamame and more! I was dying to see what all the hype was about, so Thursday night I cooked using my first PeachDish box—and it was exactly how its slogan describes: “healthy, fresh, fun, delish!” My box included the SuperFood Salad (my personal favorite) and the Smoky Red Quinoa, Potato and Parsnip Chowder.

When my boyfriend and I got home we washed our hands, turned on some tunes (ever since The Beatles became available on Spotify, I haven’t been able to listen to anything else!) and got to work. He tackled the soup while I tended to the salad. Luckily, both dishes took about the same amount of time to prep and cook. After chopping, slicing, peeling, cutting and more, we successfully prepared both dishes, and I can’t tell you what a great experience it was.

The ingredients were fresh (and locally sourced- pretty sure I spotted some Beautiful Briny Sea salt!), the instructions were clear (there are even photos that go along with each step) and PeachDish provided me with everything I needed to make the dish perfectly.  I enjoyed the salad so much, I saved some and took it to work the next day.

As someone who doesn’t cook nearly enough- but aspires to- PeachDish is the way to go. It was easy, delicious and fun. And really, what more can you ask for?
