Cirque du Soleil’s KURIOS Enchants in Atlanta

by | Mar 7, 2016 | Events

Imagine being transported to a time that feels like both the past and the future. Where the impossible seems possible- because you’re seeing it with your own eyes. That’s what you can expect from KURIOS- Cabinet of Curiosities.

KURIOS, Cirque du Soleil’s 35th production since 1984, premiered in Atlanta on Wednesday, March 3. The show will be in Atlanta at Atlantic Station from now until May 8, 2016. And maybe I’m biased, but it might just be Cirque’s best show yet.

KURIOS

The night started with drinks, appetizers and a meet-and-greet with some of the talented Cirque cast members. Photos were snapped and eyes were wide as we watched the fun performers. But the real amazement began once we took our seats.

KURIOS’s music is enchanting, the setting is spooky, yet elegant, the performers are beyond talented and the show is an overall can’t-miss. I’d love to tell you my favorite act, but it’s practically impossible to pin down just one! KURIOS is oozing with talent. From the acrobats to the musicians to the singer, the crew and more, each individual comes together to make the show spectacular.

And though the Cirque du Soleil tent may hold 2,600 people, it feels incredibly intimate. When purchasing your ticket, you don’t have to worry about having a “bad” seat, because there is no bad seat in this setting. Each has a great view of the stage, and the performers are very interactive with the audience.

KURIOS will keep you at the edge of your set for the entire 2.5 hours, but it also sneaks in a ton of humor. It is an event that is perfect children and adults alike. Cirque du Soleil’s mission is “to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world.” And KURIOS does just that.
