Brunch at The Cockentrice

by | Mar 31, 2016 | Food & Drink

The weekend is my favorite part of the week. I love it for obvious reasons: No work, I get to sleep in and I have significantly less obligations. But the biggest reason for my love of weekends is because I get to eat my favorite meal of the week! Brunch me baby.

There is no shortage of brunch spots in Atlanta. And there are so many that I have tried and absolutely LOVE, that sometimes I get stuck in my ways. But thankfully I decided to venture out of my little bubble and try The Cockentrice’s brunch– and no part of me was disappointed.

The Cockentrice is located in Inman Park’s Krog Street Market. (Which is one of my favorite places in Atlanta– in case you didn’t know!) It is best known for its charcuterie and other meats, which only makes sense since The Cockentrice is a Chef Kevin Ouzts restaurant, aka the guy who brought us the delicious flavors of The Spotted Trotter. And while my first reaction to the thought of brunch at a meat-specialty restaurant was met with a little hesitation, I then realized something important: BACON.

The Cockentrice has a great vibe. And with this beautiful spring weather underway, I definitely suggest taking advantage of its patio! After taking my seat, I ordered a brunch cocktail and the Pairing Knife- a charcuterie board with two meats, one cheese, pickled vegetables and H&F bread. It was delicious! And can you really go to a Kevin Ouzts restaurant without tasting the charcuterie?

Then it was time for the main course. Walking into the restaurant, I knew I had to get something with bacon. And I am a sucker for some good eggs, so I decided on the eggs any style. It was served with bacon (of course), a biscuit and some sort of breakfast potato- it sort of tasted like a potato latke, for all of you who know what that is! Needless to say, I devoured every last bite. Everything was cooked to perfection! And best of all, I was right by The Beltline, so I could go walk off my brunch afterwards!

So if you’re looking for a brunch spot to try this weekend, check out The Cockentrice. It’s in an awesome location, the food is killer and I was surprised to find out how reasonably priced it was!

Have you been to The Cockentrice before?
