15th Annual Taste of Atlanta

by | Sep 7, 2016 | Events

Anyone who has taken the time to explore Atlanta’s food scene knows that this city stands among the greats. James Beard nominees, Iron Chefs, Top Chefs and more… Atlanta is filled with culinary masterminds. Atlanta’s food scene is one of the reasons I love Atlanta so much– and why I created ATL Bucket List! So when we’re given the opportunity to taste bites from more than 90 of Atlanta’s top restaurants in one place there’s no option but to go.

Taste of Atlanta is the ultimate three-day foodie festival in Atlanta. The 15th annual Taste of Atlanta kicks off at Tech Square with a 21+ “15 Years of Greatest Hits” block party on the evening of Friday, October 21 and continues with the main festival on Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23. It showcases the best food, craft beer, wine and cocktails that Atlanta has to offer. (You can view the full list of participating restaurants here.) And as someone who attended last year’s festival, Taste of Atlanta is truly a can’t-miss event.

While Taste of Atlanta is centered around food, there is so much more to do than simply sampling different dishes. (Although if we’re being completely honest the whole “sampling dishes all day” concept is pretty awesome haha.) Some of the different events include:

  • Barcraft Competition – This event takes place at local restaurants prior to Taste of Atlanta. Local bartenders compete for the title ‘Atlanta’s Best Bartender’.
  • The Chef’s Table – This is your chance to spend some quality time with your favorite Atlanta chefs– and learn some cooking secrets!
  • The Kitchen Workshop – Get your hands dirty with this hands-on cooking class.
  • Big Green Egg Grilling Stage – The Big Green Egg is the ultimate ceramic grill. Pick up some tips from your favorite local grill masters.
  • Family Food Zone – Children can channel their inner Anthony Bourdain with this kid-friendly cooking experience.
  • Silent Auction – The beneficiary of Taste of Atlanta’s silent auction is Open Hand, an organization that “helps people prevent or better manage chronic disease through Comprehensive Nutrition Care™, which combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.”
