Main Event Atlanta: Eat.Bowl.Play.

by | Sep 12, 2016 | Activities

Growing up all I wanted was to be an adult: To be able to stay out really late, get dressed up like the “older kids” and make decisions all on my own. But now that I am an adult I look back and laugh at that little girl. Now don’t get me wrong, there are a ton of perks to be older like not depending on my parents for money and living on my own. But sometimes I wish nap time and Nintendo 64 were still a thing. (Oh wait. Scratch that. I totally still play N64 haha. But you get what I mean.)

That’s why I got really excited when I discovered Main Event. It’s the best of both worlds. You can have your beer and Mario Kart, too!

Main Event is an entertainment destination with locations all over the United States, and luckily we have one right in Atlanta! (And one in Alpharetta too for all you OTPers!) Main Event’s slogan is “Eat.Bowl.Play.” so I’m going to walk you through all that this destination has to offer, focusing on these three pillars.

Eat

Main Event has a pizza restaurant called “La Bella’s,” a full bar and a seating area with a menu of shared plates, entrees and desserts! The food and drinks are awesome. Each time one of the bartenders walked by with a plate of food, I got a whif of deliciousness. Next time I’m definitely ordering one of the specialty pizzas!

And one of my favorite things about Main Event is the bar. They serve everything from beer to mojitos to martinis. So don’t get fooled by the “gaming” part of this venue– It’s definitely not just a place for kids. It’s an awesome night out and a great change of pace from the bars that I seem to frequent every weekend.

Bowl

Main Event also features a state-of-the-art bowling alley with huge TVs and a nice seating area for each lane. My boyfriend keeps talking about heading to Main Event for a football Sunday this season to watch the games on the big screens while bowling. (I’d say it’s a win-win. He can watch football while I kick his butt in bowling!)

Play

Last but certainly not least: play. After you’ve ordered your margarita (or finished up bowling), it’s time to head over to the games. The arcade really brought back some memories with games like air hockey, NBA hoops and – my personal favorite – Mario Kart! I may or may not have been “that girl” hogging the Mario Kart for hours on end…

But don’t sweat it if arcade games aren’t for you because Main Event also has laser tag, gravity ropes and row and rows of pool tables.

Between the food, drinks, bowling and games, Main Event is the perfect night out with friends or happy hour with coworkers! I’m definitely suggesting this for my next agency outing.

Main Event is open 7 days a week from 9 am until midnight on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and until 2 am on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays.

And definitely be sure to plan a trip to Main Event for FREE fun on October 10 for ‘National Head for Fun Day!’ See you there?!
