Decatur Wine Festival 2016

by | Oct 23, 2016 | Events

The Decatur Wine Festival was one of the first festivals I ever attended when I moved to Atlanta and I have continued to go every year since– that’s how much I love it! This year’s Decatur Wine Festival is on Saturday, November 5 from 12:30 – 4:30 pm. And as always the event takes place on the square in Downtown Decatur.

Featuring nearly 500 different wines, the Decatur Wine Festival is the ultimate event for all you wine connoisseurs out there! Guests are handed a wine list and an event-branded wine glass as they walk into the event. And that wine glass is yours to keep! Stop by each table to taste different sips of red, white, rose and bubbly wines!

And while wine is definitely the focus of this festival, sometimes its nice to pair your wine with some food! Luckily there will be food for purchase from local vendors inside the event. (Or if you’re like me you can make a pretzel necklace! I swear it was a hit last year…)

The thing I love most about the Decatur Wine Festival is the energy. It is filled with fun people who are all there to drink wine and have a great time. Local DJ Troy Cono will be playing music and – if its anything like last year – a dance party is guaranteed to break out. Venus of Winendorf, a 15 ft. steampunk-style wine goddess created by Decatur Makers Art120, will wander around the festival making for great photo opportunities! And November is always one of the most beautiful times of the year in Atlanta, so the Decatur Wine Festival is a great reason to spend your day outside.

Tickets are available now and can be purchased here for $40 each. Each attendee will also get the chance to enter in a drawing for a variety of unique varieties and huge bottles of wine. Proceeds benefit the Decatur Arts Alliance.
