Staycation Series: The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead

by | Nov 1, 2016 | Activities

Fall is upon us! And while it might not necessarily feel like it, I have a feeling winter (i.e. cuffing season) will be here before we know it. I don’t consider myself to be the wildest in the bunch on an average day, and when winter rolls around my hermit tendencies seem to intensify. And Netflix is great and all, but sometimes a change of pace is nice. That’s why winter is  great time for a staycation! Minimal travel with full relaxation potential.

I recently spent a night at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead and had a wonderful time. The location, amenities, staff and decor were all incredible. Don’t let its unassuming exterior fool you– this Ritz Carlton is just as good (if not better!) as any.

When I checked in I noticed both a mimosa bar and candy bar available to all of the guests in the lobby. Throughout my stay the “bar” area switched from candy to drinks to coffee and more. A very nice added amenity that makes the Ritz Carlton stand out.

After settling in the gorgeous room, I headed to the spa level. (This was one of my favorite parts of my stay!) The spa is incredibly relaxing and charming. There’s nothing like a good massage every once and a while, and the treatments at the Ritz Carlton, Buckhead spa are top notch. And I definitely recommend getting to the spa a bit before your appointment because the waiting room is amazing. Recline on one of the cushy chairs while sipping on a glass of champagne. It is the perfect way to get in relaxation mode!

The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead also features a beautiful indoor pool on the fitness level, which will be perfect for the winter months!

Another thing I love about this hotel is its close proximity to so many great Buckhead restaurants. From St. Cecilia to Tomo to both of the big malls in Buckhead (Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza), there are so many options to choose from.

And while I deem it acceptable to venture out for dinner, don’t even think about missing the hotel’s Sunday brunch! It very well might be the best brunch buffet in all of Atlanta. Guests have two options: the breakfast buffet or the brunch buffet. If you’re only in the mood for traditional breakfast food such as eggs, bacon and pancakes I suggest going for the breakfast buffet. But if you’re in a “go big or go home” mindset, the brunch buffet features everything from sushi to fresh meats to decadent desserts– as well as everything in the breakfast buffet! A brunch fit for a king or queen for sure.

So if you’re looking to “get away” without actually getting away, check out The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead! With all of its amenities, it really is the perfect girls weekend or romantic getaway. I can’t wait to plan my next stay!
